In general, the overall requirements for the quality of aluminum foil are not very high, only small amount of oil on the surface and no holes are enough. Because the surface quality of aluminum foil is the most important factor affecting the peel strength, its main surface quality problems are oil spots, corrosion, and peroxidation. However, cable aluminum foil has higher requirement on the length and mechanical properties. In terms of length, the length of the cable aluminum foil is only allowed to be longer but not shorter. This requires careful calculations during the casting of the billet, the billet should be kept as much as 10 or 12 times the length of the customer’s requirement, and plus an additional 3% error. In terms of mechanical properties, the setting standard of the aluminum cable foil in the communication cable industry is not high, but most customers require the strength to be greater than 70 MPa or 80 MPa.
