The aluminum foil uses of light reflection

Aluminum foil has good reflective performance, so aluminum foil uses as light refection. The more light and clean the surface of aluminum foil is, the stronger the reflective performance is! The purity of aluminum materials have obvious effects on the reflectivity of the aluminum foil. If there are impurities, impurity scattering happens and increase radiation absorption. To obtain high reflectivity of aluminum foil, the purity should be not less than 99.6%.

Due to aluminum foil roll surface finish level is different, the light reflectivity is also different too. When the aluminum foil surface is rough, the reflectivity is affected by irradiation light wavelength greatly, the overall trend is reflectivity improve with increasing wavelength, reflectivity is highest when the light wavelength is 6505 m. But, to single finish surface aluminum foil, the dark surface’s light reflectance decline with the increase of the wavelength. It is interesting to note that when the irradiation light tilt 10″ from vertical irradiation, the dark surface reflectivity is higher than smooth surface. When light irradiation the single finish surface from horizontal, the smooth surface reflectivity is higher than the dark surface. For smooth aluminum foil, the reflectivity of lateral will be 10% higher than the longitudinal.

The aluminum foil uses of light reflection ability is especially strong, its light reflectivity is affected by the purity, smoothness, surface roughness, heat rays wavelength and other factors. With the increase of the purity and heat rays wavelength of the aluminum foil, the light reflectance increases, with the decrease of the flatness and surface roughness, the light reflectivity of aluminum foil decrease. In visible wavelength range of 0.38-0.765 m, the reflectivity is about 70% – 80% , in infrared wavelength scope of 0.76 to 505 m, the reflectivity can reach 75%- 100%!
